Medicine ball ab exercises are highly effective in ripping out your stomach and toning your abs. There are all kinds of ab exercises you can do with medicine balls, but here are my top 3 picks that I have found work great.
Here’s a video demonstrating some of these exercises
Russian Twist (Sitting in a V-position)
To begin: sit on the ground with your knees bent to form a V, hold the medicine ball on one side, and slightly recline your back to about 45 degrees, then twist from one side to the other while hold the medicine ball. This works great for your obliques as well as your abs. To make this workout more effective, lean back more to increase resistance.
I like to do 2 sets of 30 and then go into the next workout.
Medicine Ball Ab Exercises: #2
Toe-touching Hard Crunches
To begin: lay on your back, lift both legs straight up, try not to bend them at all. Hold the medicine ball with your hands over your head. Now just contract your stomach muscles and reach to your toes with the medicine ball, as you go down bring the medicine ball behind your head just slightly above the ground to increase resistance.
For this I do 2 sets of 10, trust me that’s enough to feel it burn.
Medicine Ball Ab Exercises: #3
Medicine Ball Crunches on Exercise Ball
To begin: rest your back on an exercise ball with a medicine ball in hand, hold the ball up behind your head, and roll your body forward while bringing the medicine ball in front of you, and then go back, that’s 1 rep. For this exercises it’s better to go slow so you don’t hurt yourself and so that you build more resistance.
Try to start by doing 10 reps of 2 sets for this exercise, more if you feel you can keep going.
Medicine ball ab exercises are a great way to develop your abs, help burn unwanted calories, and just get rid of belly fat. Anyone can do them at home, so you can save trip to the gym for your ab workouts, unless you don’t have a medicine ball .
